Food is not very tasty but edible. You can usually get in no matter when you arrive. It's a newer building with a large parking lot and it is near several hotels and the local movie theater

This is one of the nastiest restaurants in Monroe LA...the restaurant was filthy... From the time they sat us at our table, the food was all over the floor and we stood there and waited for someone to come can sweep and wipe our table down.... They took forever to bring out our entrees... Which the food was horrible... As we were leaving, I realised that while walking to the restroom.. The floor was very sticky and greasy... Once I got inside the restroom I could not believe they didn't have any seat covers at all anywhere... What kind of restaurant have you been in where they don't purchase seat covers..This tells me that I will never Ever Ever eat here again!!! Totally disgusting!!!!

After reading the reviews I had second thoughts about eating here but it was right next to the hotel we were staying in. I was pleasantly surprised by the food and the service. Our server was very attentive, checking on us several times and bringing extra napkins without us having to ask. The food was tasty. We'll be eating there again.

Service was extremely slow. Had house salad that was more than half carrots and cabbage. Ordered spasagna only to be told about 10 minutes later that they were out. Asked 2 people for more ranch dressing before finally getting it. Asked 2 different people for tartar sauce before getting it. When she brought out ticket, she had the spasagna on it that they did not have. Will probably never come back. Food was mediocre.

The service here was absolutely atrocious. Honestly, it was terrible. I don't enjoy writing bad reviews and I don't do so very often, but I felt like our experience at this restaurant tonight warrants one. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and we were seated right away; however; it took at least 15 minutes for anyone to come take our drink order. And then another 15 minutes to actually receive our drinks. And we only ordered water, folks. We didn't receive our meals until over an hour after being seated. When we told the waiter that we were unhappy with the service, he said it wasn't his fault they were short staffed. When I finally received my steak, which I ordered medium/medium rare, it came out completely rare and bleeding everywhere. I had to send back to actually be cooked. There were two highlights of our visit tonight: the young man who seated us was very courteous and kept checking on us. Even he was shocked that we sat there so long without receiving our food. Nice boy. And the food was actually very good. Other than that, this was easily the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Once I was seated I was forgotten. No one came by to even offer a glass of water. I left and went to the Mexican restaurant next door.

Ordered a chicken pasta Cesar salad for pick up but the chicken and pasta was missing didn't realize it till I was on the interstate. The place was dirty I stood in the entrance for 3 minutes without being acknowledged so i had to walk around looking for service. Found someone to help me and had to wait for my salad to be prepped even though I called 20 minutes ahead. The server who brought it out was in a bad mood, not very good customer service.

After sitting for 30 minutes, without service, our presence was finally acknowledged, by the most inattentive waitress. After an additional 20 minutes, we finally received our drinks. At this point, I was over it. An additional 10 minutes went by after asking for the check. Which for an eight dollar tab, I was originally short changed. I've been to many different cheddars in different states and this one was the worst! Stay away from this bush league place!!!

Just had the New Orleans Pasta. It was superb! Waiter was friendly and efficient. I will be back.

This is the worst Cheddars I have been to. The food was more or less slapped together then slapped onto the plate and the service is severely lacking. I would recommend just going somewhere else.

A chain, but good. A bit crowded on weekends but overall good.

I understand that chain restaurants exist and that their sole purpose is to provide consistency from one to the next, however I think they should also be able to stand alone as an exceptional experience. Unfortunately, I didn't get that here. Except for the exceptional amount of time I spent standing at the hostess stand watching people walk by ignoring me, absolutely nothing stood out here. Our appetizers were on the table for 3 minutes before we got the silverware we requested. Cheese Fries - More than enough for all of us but very ordinary. Our waitress was very friendly but never introduced herself and waited til everyone at the table had an empty glass before she refilled anyone. What do 9, 18, 20, 24, and 47 have in common? Those are the ages of people at our table who refused to eat the chicken tenders. How the hell do you mess up chicken tenders??? Inedible chicken, overdone burgers, and underseasoned steaks. The soup was good and the cake was huge though wholly unremarkable. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is the cost. 5 of us ate dinner, an appetizer, and a dessert for 60 bucks. But we won't again...

Don't even want to give it one star. Service was terrible. Waitress seemed distracted and was slow and inattentive. Bring the soup with a spoon. It that too much thinking for you? They were out of potato soup and baked potatoes. Wait, no they actually had baked potatoes but the kitchen staff was playing a trick on the waitress? She came back to get substitute orders and then served the original orders without explanation Really? We had to walk to the front desk to get our check. Not worth it at all. As we left I advised a waiting customer of the terrible service and she said it's always bad.

I live in West Monroe and have been here a handful of times. Most visits have been average at best. On the bright side, the prices are very reasonable. The food is average or slightly above. The service is below average. Our most recent visit was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. We waited about 10 minutes at our table after being seated and no one ever came to take our drink order. I went to the hostess and she took our drinks. After another 5 minutes, our waitress finally showed up. She seemed very disinterested in her job. Our food arrived in a timely manner but we had no silverware. We asked her two times to bring silverware. About 10 minutes after receiving our food, she finally brought it out. She said they didn't have any ready. This was 5:30 on a Sunday and I highly doubt that. The waitress never returned to check on us or refill drinks. We waited 10 minutes or so after we were done eating and she never brought our check. We left the table and had to get the hostess to assist with the payment. The hostess apologized but the waitress not once did. She had a terrible attitude and should not be working in any service related industry. In addition, I asked to speak with a manager. After several minutes of waiting, the manager never showed up and we just left. Management was likely the source of the whole problem. I can say with certainty that I will NEVER return to this restaurant and I highly ask you to consider other options for your dining experience in West Monroe.

My mom and I often visit Cheddar's when i return to the Monroe-West Monroe area for business. This is solid food, nothing fancy, but definitely good and at a wonderful price. We ended up getting the Triple Treat Sampler (stuffed potato skins, nachos, and chicken tenders) and an order of the onion rings. Just so you'll know, the onion rings come in a tower on a plate and you can just about make a meal off them alone. Everything was very fresh and well-prepared. Our server, Ladonna, was really cordial and accommodating, and checked on us just enough to be attentive without being intrusive. Cheddar's is very family-friendly, especially around 6PM on a Friday night, so expect quite a few kiddos. Our only fly in the ointment was one particular little fellow who was loud to the point of annoyance - didn't bother me so much as he drove my mom crazy for a bit. Still, it's something that comes with the territory, so if you're looking for something more intimate, this probably isn't your kind of joint. We will definitely be back!

We visited after the lunch rush, so we expected to get our food in a timely manner. We were sorely mistaken! It took a long time to get our drink order and the waitress who took our drink orders did not take our food order, causing confusion because she ended up bringing our food requests out. (Some side dishes were mixed up.) We were a party of 6 but the service was so disorganized and slow. The waitress wasn't necessarily rude but acted like she sure didn't want to be there. The food was just okay. Nothing special but I did order the ribs and yummy! Also loved their sweet tea. Won't visit this location again.

One of the newest chain restaurants in the Monroe area, it's also become one of my favorites. The main reason I like this place is because you get really good value for the money. Most of the dishes are under $10 (only the steaks, ribs, and combos cost more than $10) and are pretty good. For instance, I can get grilled salmon with two sides for $9.99 (even the lunch portion at $7.99 is plenty); can't beat that! Some of the sandwiches like the buffalo chicken wrap and the Monte Cristo (one of my favorites from the old Bennigans that used to be located here) are big enough for two or more people to share. I don't care much for their steaks or their burgers (both are okay but I can get much better elsewhere), but most of the food that I've tried has been really good. The atmosphere is casual but has more of an upscale feel than other similar restaurants. The only minus is that the service sometimes suffers when it is really busy. We usually avoid the busy weekend evenings because of this. I've heard a lot of other stories from others about bad service here, but I've found the service to be pretty good overall; whenever we had a problem it was taken care of pretty quickly.

Since I have been in Monroe, I have visited Cheddars at least 5 times. I have to say that only 2 of the 5 have been without problem. On the first visit (arriving at 11 am opening) we waited more than an hour to get food. Drinks were not refilled, and our server was master of the disappearing act. After relaying this to the manager, he comped our meal--which is the ONLY reason I returned. The second and third visits were better--good server and good food. 4th and 5th, not so great. Arriving alone, I sat at the bar. It was incredibly busy with staff, managers, and patrons shouting at the (only 2) bartenders, so they hardly had time to think, let alone take someone's order. Then the 5th visit clarified it for me; the one bartender was far more interested in her ongoing conversation with a patron than her job. Consequently the bar was a mess, and I waited a good 5 minutes after sitting down before every being approached. Unacceptable. Of course when the interesting patron left she was so busy cleaning up she STILL didn't have time for customers. This all points to Glenn's assessment above; bad management. Workers should understand that while they are at work, the needs of ALL customers are paramount. Management must staff sufficiently and properly and reinforce this point by monitoring and correcting when needed. Now, the one thing I haven't talked about---and the one thing that keeps me going back and was strong enough to still give the place a 3 star rating, was the food. Not being fond of meat, the veggie plate there is an awesome value! For well under $10, you can get soup, bread and your choice of 4 quality veggies in enough quantity to satisfy the emptiest of stomachs. I have had a few of the 'traditional' dishes there also, and they were all good also. The cost vs. quantity and quality of the food there is among the best in the area. If you order the veggie plate, however, I suggest you insist on the croissant. That experience dhouldn't be missed. Every time I've had to specifically insist on getting it. The menu clearly says it is included in the meal, but for some reason the servers don't think so. One even argued with me that I had to buy a salad in order to get it! Again, a management problem showing lack of training of the employees about the menu. Until the management problems are resolved there, I suggest you choose Cheddars when you want value for your dollar, and are in a very laid-back, patient and forgiving mood!

I went there a couple nights ago. I got this chicken bacon sandwich and it was the BEST THING I HAVE EATEN IN THIS TOWN. It melted in your mouth and was wonderful. The interior is pretty cool too. The only thing I didn't like was the waitress. She kept our drinks refilled and was pleasant but when our bill came and I asked her to break a $10 bill for me. I was planning on giving her a $7 and some change tip (I usually tip $5), but she decided to wait us out and not bring me the change. After waiting 10 minutes, I had decided she had won and left. She ended up with a $12 and some odd change tip. (Our bill was for $25). I loved the restaurant but could not believe that she thought we owed her half the bill. This is the only reason I won't be giving this restaurant 5 stars and am hesitant to go back without smaller bills....

The menu prices are very reasonable and the food is pretty good. I got two chicken breasts with rice, broccoli and green beans for about 8 dollars and it was all well cooked and seasoned. My husband got a fried chicken salad which was pretty good as well. The service was pretty slow, but we each had a reasonably priced alcoholic beverage to tide us over, so we didn't mind so much. The food isn't amazing or incredibly inventive, but for the price, I was pretty impressed. The reason I gave this restaurant four stars though is because I (brilliantly) left my purse at the restaurant and proceeded to drive for four hours before realizing I had done so. Once I realized my mistake, I called the restaurant and someone had turned my purse in. Because I could not turn around and drive back to the restaurant, the manager said he would have the purse and its contents mailed back to me. This process took about 4 months due to some shipping complications, but the staff was very friendly and understanding. I received my purse with all of its contents last week. Next time we are passing by on a road trip, we will definitely be back.

My second visit back to Cheddar's was much better, in terms of service. I'm sure it can still get crowded and there will be other issues with other customers, but it was a vast improvement when I visited in mid-May than when I visited in mid-February.
